Shopping for Kids in San Francisco – as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. There are so many wonderful places to shop for unique children’s items in the San Francisco Bay area. I wanted to share my top five picks with you. First item on the list is Automobuild, which is located in Los Gatos, which is just about an hour south of San Francisco. The store was started by a mom of a preschool-aged child who loved cars, and at first the store was all about cars. What is great about it is they have all these old antique road signs on the walls and a lot old toolboxes and stuff that they use for furniture. It is a really great, magical store to walk in and an amazing selection of both car toys and other gifts and toys for children. It is definitely worth a stop, and what is fun is if your child is a car-buff, just about a block away is the Lamborghini and Ashton Martin dealerships, so they can see some big kid toys, as well. Heading up the coast a little bit up to Menlo Park, there is a wonderful Le Cirque which is the ultimate, luxurious children’s boutique. They have wonderful high-end clothing items, it is the ultimate luxury for getting a gorgeous high-end nursery. Wonderful service there. Definitely the best of the best in children’s wear. Also, not too far away from there, in Palo Alto is a relatively new store, it has been around about a year or so, I think, it is called Acme, and it is all eco-friendly products for kids and for moms, as well. They really specialize in birthdays parties too, so if you are looking to throw a birthday party for your child, it is a great place to stop to find some great party goods keeping eco-friendly and really colorful, fun and different, unique items. Then when I get up to San Francisco, my favorite place to shop for children’s clothing is called Fiddlesticks, and it is located in Haze Valley, which is a unique little strip in San Francisco. A lot of really fun, unique shops and Fiddlesticks will not disappoint you. Besides all the adorable clothes they have, they also have really cute gifts and some toys, as well. So it is a great little stop to check out and a wonderful neighborhood with a lot of fun boutiques. Then just north of San Francisco there is a little town called San Anselmo which is up in Marin, and they have a precious store called Doodle Bug, and it is the great place for your budding artist. They can take sewing, there are all sorts of craft projects that they can do. You can also get gifts and so many different things for children. Again, it is a local run store. They do so much for the community, and it is a really fun place to take your kids to enjoy a fun afternoon, to take an art class, and then to also pick up some great products for your kids. So, I hope you enjoy these really fun, unique boutiques across the San Francisco Bay area, where you can pick up some great items for your children.
